What is Chelated Zinc and Copper?

Good 4 Life Chelated Zinc (15mg) is Vegetarian Encapsulated and is fortified with Copper because it is important to take additional copper when using zinc for longer than a month because zinc may interfere with copper absorption. Copper imbalances may lead to anemia and various other problems.
The zinc in this formula is chelated and easy for the body to absorb because we utilize zinc from zinc arginate, zinc histidinate and zinc glycinate. The copper comes from copper lysinate and copper glycinate.  Zinc and copper are both considered essential trace minerals.

Recommended Dietary Allowance for chelated zinc is 15 mgs per day, and the RDA for copper is 2mgs per day so take 1 capsule, one to two times daily with meals.

Cautions Using Chelated Zinc with Copper

• Zinc should be taken 2 hours after taking antibiotics such as tetracycline, doxycycline and minocycline; Studies indicate that it may increase the absorption of these antibiotics.
• Copper should be taken with meals; dosages as low as 10 mgs may cause stomach upset.
• If you have chronic liver or renal failure, or are pregnant or lactating, consult your health care practitioner prior to taking zinc and copper.
