Good4Lifeshop.com is the only site that carefully screen’s out harmful products with excessive incidence of known adverse side effects.  We go far beyond the current FDA warnings. Below is a list of only the most prevalent in the marketplace that we researched for our site products.  If you find these items in your current supplements for the unnecessary purposes identified we suggest that, unless your doctor has recommended them for an illness, you dispose of them.  Together we can force suppliers to clean up the supplements industry.

Cascara Sagrada  (why we don't use it)
Used in “detox” and laxative products.  Yet there are numerous documented risks that must considered when consuming Cascara Sagrada.     The FDA removed this product from the safe and effective designation in 2002.  
 
Known Side Effects …
 Lethargy, muscle, nausea, colic, cramps, vomiting, diarrhoea, headaches, painful muscular spasms and tremors, excessive urination, breathlessness, high blood pressure, and abdominal discomfort.   Long-term use may lead to potassium depletion, potential kidney damage, blood in the urine, disturbed heart function, muscle weakness, finger enlargement, and extreme weight loss.
 
Warnings include possibility of ...
 Increased the risk of bleeding, weakness, lack of co-ordination, and low blood pressure when standing. Ay experience significant electrolyte loss. May speed the passage of all oral medications through the stomach inhibiting their absorption. Can exacerbate nausea or vomiting, inflammatory bowel disease, appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, or acute intestinal inflammation. I.e. Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and appendicitis.  
 
Avoid if taking ... 
Blood thinners i.e. Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic, Saw Palmetto, Aspirin, Warfarin (Coumadin®) or Heparin – may increase bleeding.
NSAIDs i.e. ibuprofen (Motrin®, Advil®) or naproxen (Naprosyn®, Aleve®) – may increase bleeding.
Anti-platelet drugs i.e. clopidogrel (Plavix®) – may increase bleeding.
Digoxin - may inhibit action.
Isoniazid or Sulfisoxazole may inhibit absorption.
Laxatives or Licorice - may cause electrolyte, potassium, and fluid depletion.
Corticosteroids (steroids), or potassium depleting drugs may cause excessive loss of potassium.
Horsetail - may increase potassium depletion.
Digitalis glycosides, i.e. foxglove - may inhibit the absorption.
Squill - may also interact with.
Vitamin K - may result in decreased absorption

Choline & Lecithin used in muscle building preparations and for athletic performance - evidence so far suggests that it is ineffective for this purpose.
