What is Vegetarian Hawthorn Extract?
Hawthorn has been used as a heart treatment since Roman times. Extracts of Hawthorn are still being used extensively in Europe to treat heart circulatory disorders, including high blood pressure.
Our Hawthorn extract use the flowers, leaf and berry as they are all high in flavonoid content, which also gives the plant powerful antioxidant properties. Hawthorn contains three groups of compounds which are key to the plant’s positive effects on the cardiovascular system. These constituent groups are the triterpenoid saponins, the amines and the flavonoids.
By preventing free radicals forming, Hawthorn’s antioxidant activity help to maintain healthy heart vessels and overall heart health.
